IAC SAFETY SERVICES

Phil & Toby is a partnership company I started in 2010 with Toby Allder, that aims to work on local small-mid sized web development and design projects. IAC Safety Services was the company’s first project in mid 2010.

IAC Safety Services is a national training company, based in Sydney. Phil & Toby took on a small design job for the company, which wanted a new internal staff accessible webpage.

The Design

The client knew what design they wanted for the page, which entailed a main hexagon that would reveal another hexagon when a user clicked on the corresponding side of the hexagon. This new hexagon would reveal links to internal documents and resources for the staff to access.

The Code

This type of small project was purely client-side based. There was no PHP or databases involved. Toby’s design skills, matched with my coding skills, enabled us to create a visually appealing application, which was also cross-browser functional.

Powered by jQuery, the interface is completely animated using Javascript. This enables more devices, including the iPhone to access the complete functionality of the interface, without being constrained like a flash website would be.
